How does the Vix FIX / StochRSI Strategy strategy work ?
The Vix FIX / StochRSI Strategy employs a dual approach, combining Vix Fix for identifying market bottoms and Stochastic RSI for determining overbought conditions. With updates made to Pine Version 5, the strategy provides options for filtered or aggressive entries, leveraging Chris Moody's Vix Fix to signal potential entry points. Trades are entered based on the presence of one or more entry signals, and with pyramiding enabled, additional positions can be progressively added with subsequent signals.
Entrants can opt for either filtered or aggressive entry conditions. Filtered alerts are determined by a combination of historical highest value filtering and Bollinger Band filters within the Williams Vix Fix formula. Contrarily, the aggressive alerts are triggered when the current price action exceeds the previous bar's high without the strict requirement of being below Bollinger Bands or the historical high filter.
Exiting a position is straightforward: the strategy signals a close when a Stochastic RSI crossover occurs above the overbought 80-level threshold. This strategy shows versatility, adapting to various futures and their respective timeframes.
Major revisions include added flexibility for filtering entries, refining the strategy's algorithm to improve quality of entry points, aligning the strategy's title with its functionality, and streamlining the visual presentation by removing unnecessary chart indicators.
