How does the RSI, EMA, SMA Trendtrading - Oil Daytrading 1H strategy work ?
The Unitrend trading system is a trend-focused strategy utilizing RSI, EMA, and SMA indicators, designed specifically for oil day trading on a 1-hour timeframe. It operates by generating trading signals based on a scoring system composed of three distinct conditions:
- RSI Momentum: This checks if the EMA of RSI (24-period) is greater than the SMA of RSI (24-period), suggesting a faster RSI growth, which is considered positive for momentum.
- RSI Trend: The system identifies if the RSI is above the threshold of 45, indicating a propensity for better than average performance.
- Price Trend: It compares EMA (50-period) and SMA (50-period) of the closing prices to detect the market trend, favoring swift reactions to market movements.
A score of 2 or 3 indicates a BUY signal. The system includes adjustable parameters like capital risk per trade and TP Factor (risk/reward ratio). A "Always Buy" mode enables comparison to market performance, while a compounding mode aids in understanding drawdowns through total equity calculations. Signals adapt each bar based on updated scores. The strategy efficiently caters to dynamic market conditions by resetting scores and adapting to prevalent trends.
