How does the Holyscalp v.3 strategy work ?
This is a trend-following strategy designed for the 15-minute timeframe, primarily for forex markets. It aims to capture moves by ensuring multiple trend indicators are in agreement before entering a trade.
- Dual MACD Confirmation: A trade is only considered if both a short-term and a long-term MACD indicator show the same trend direction. The chart background color changes to match the long-term MACD trend, visually confirming if the system is looking for long or short setups.
- Trend & Volatility Filters: Entries must align with the direction of a primary moving average. The strategy also uses an "MA breach" setting to avoid trading during consolidation and filters out entries where the current ATR is more than 3x the previous one to avoid volatility spikes.
Your stop loss is automatically set using an ATR indicator. The strategy also includes a break-even function; for instance, if price reaches 90% of your profit target, your stop loss is moved to your entry point to protect the position.
